Beacon House

Beacon House, which was founded in 1996 by a group of Christians from Colchester Baptist Church, adopts a holistic approach to the problem of homelessness and has as its over-riding goal the desire to transform lives, rather than simply to serve the need.

Their Day Centre in Colchester, Essex, provides a welcoming and non-judgemental environment which encourages a sense of belonging for people who are currently excluded from the wider community.

Our vision is to work together

The Stanway Wellbeing Hub’s vision is to foster ‘Thriving Together’: socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically and economically. We are people who live and work in Stanway and surrounds, who listen to and connect with people in our community who have found themselves, or a loved one, in difficult times.

We have volunteers from many backgrounds, including medical, teaching, faith and business. None of us has all the answers, but we know people with specialist expertise to whom we can signpost people. We meet twice a month on Tuesdays.

If you would more information or would like to volunteer please contact:

Responding to the cry of the Earth

We are a community of ordinary Christians from all backgrounds and traditions. Inspired by our faith, we work to care for Creation through prayer, living simply, public witness, campaigning and mutual encouragement.

Green Christian exists to share Green insights with Christians and to offer Christian insights to the wider Green movement. We walk alongside those of faith and no faith. Join us.

The helping hand of the Church

Launched on November 18th, 2018 on the second World Day of the Poor, we exist to support and encourage the living out of Catholic Social Teaching throughout Essex and East London. With volunteers giving thousands of hours to support those who are ill, poor, and marginalised, with faith or no faith, we are reaching out to all those who are in need.

Working with our community for our community

Social Groups

Within our community and Parish we have a number of clubs and groups running to help parishioners connect and engage with other members. These initiatives cater to a wide spectrum of interests.

Within our Parish

We are committed to providing support and growth for parish and community members through collaborative efforts with both local and national organisations.

Outside Agencies

Through social action initiatives, churches have the potential to make a significant impact on some of the most pressing issues facing our society today. Poverty, homelessness, hunger, and discrimination are complex issues that require collaborative efforts and long-term solutions.

Schools

With a strong commitment to Catholic values and teachings, parish schools offer a safe and nurturing environment where students can develop a strong sense of faith, morality, and character. Our local Primary school is St Teresa's and our local college is St Benedict's.

Bereavement Support

Bereavement support is an important aspects of the role that churches play in supporting individuals and families during times of loss. When someone experiences the death of a loved one, they may feel overwhelmed, confused, and isolated. Bereavement support services offered by churches can provide a safe and compassionate space for individuals to process their grief, share their experiences, and receive support.
